Kitchen Notes Privacy
Effective Date: 1 January 2026
Data Controller: Echo Muffin Buzz Kitchen Reference Ltd (Company No. 14892031), 42 Baker's Yard, Norwich, Norfolk, NR2 1BA, United Kingdom.
1. Our Privacy Principle
Echo Muffin Buzz (`echomuffinbuzz.forum`) is an independent static baking reference website. We believe you should be able to troubleshoot a sunken batch of blueberry muffins without having your reading habits auctioned to third-party advertising networks. We do not run behavioral tracking pixels, cross-site profiling scripts, or mandatory user registration databases.
2. Information Processed When You Visit
- Standard Server Access Logs: Like all web servers, our hosting infrastructure temporarily records your IP address, browser user-agent string, requested page URL, timestamp, and HTTP status code for security, abuse prevention, and basic traffic diagnostics. Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is Legitimate Interests (Article 6(1)(f)). Server logs are automatically rotated and deleted after 30 days.
- Client-Side Diagnostic Tool (`contact.html`): Entries typed into the Kitchen Diagnostic Log Builder are processed strictly inside your browser's local memory via vanilla JavaScript to generate a copyable or downloadable text file. None of the text typed into that form is transmitted to our servers unless you voluntarily copy it and send it to us via email.
- Direct Email Correspondence: If you email [email protected], we receive your email address and any details included in your message. We use this information solely to reply to your baking question or site inquiry and delete routine correspondence within 12 months.
3. Data Sharing & International Transfers
We never sell, rent, or trade personal data. We share data only when strictly necessary with our secure European/UK web hosting provider and email host under binding Data Processing Agreements, or if compelled by a valid UK court order.
4. Your Rights Under UK GDPR & Data Protection Act 2018
You have the right to request access to any personal data we hold about you (such as past email threads), request rectification of inaccurate data, request erasure ("right to be forgotten"), or object to processing. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at `ico.org.uk`.
